The roots of Australian lay in 1945 when the clothing company L'Alpina was founded by Lina Anna Maria Gabrielli. However, she soon saw opportunities in the tennis segment, currently dominated by brands like Fred Perry and Lacoste. In search of a strong name, one chose Australian because the Australian tennis players put the rankings at the time.
In 1996 there was a new line of shoes called Australian Footwear. The shoes of Australian can best be described as a good mix between casual and fashion. Extra durable and comfortable materials will be added during the design process to create an authentic and robust character.
